Sisters bless new CSJ Associates Margaret Ann and Mary Ellen Lydon. |

| More than 30 associates of the
Congregation of St. Joseph (CSJ) traveled from all directions in the state to
join the sisters for an annual meeting at the congregation’s Mount St. Joseph
Center on Saturday, September 19, 2009. Highlights included a ceremony receiving two new CSJ
Associates to the group, a keynote speaker and a virtual reunion.
The two new associates who made
their public commitment as CSJ Associates are Margaret Ann and Mary Ellen Lydon
of Stonewood, W.Va. The two women
came to know the Sisters of St. Joseph through Sr. Maria Joseph Corbett,
currently doing pastoral work in their home parish, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Stonewood. They are the nieces of Father Leo Lydon of the
Wheeling/Charleston Diocese.
Sister Mary Ellen Gondeck, CSJ,
from the Congregation’s Nazareth Center near Kalamazoo, Mich., gave the keynote
presentation for the meeting, updating associates on the congregation’s
direction and focus, embodied in its Generous Promises (four statements that
summarize the commitments that the sisters and associates have promised to work
toward).
Following the meeting and Mass,
participants enjoyed dinner together and “reunioning,” since the associates
annual meeting had been preempted at Mount St. Joseph for two years while the
Center was under remodeling construction.
